USSSA Baseball
$450
What is included in registration?
All registrations include two jerseys, a belt, and a hat. Hat’s run big so please be aware of that when selecting their size.
What is not included in registration?
Black pants will need to be purchased for your child as part of their uniform. Any additional tournaments outside of the allotted amount per team will fall on the parents. This will require approval from the parents, and you will not just receive a bill stating you owe more. The coach will be required to reach out prior to completing any registration to make sure the parents are on board or not.
Is my child guaranteed a spot next year?
The short answer is no. If additional kids want to try out, then the team will be required to participate in tryouts. These will be held within the last two weeks of the season at Gladiator Park and will be conducted by third party evaluators. The criteria will consider that your child was on the team before and has played USSSA so they will have a slight advantage, but their spot cannot guarantee it. This will continue to push kids that were unable to make the team in prior years to work to achieve their goal.
Season Expectations:
Optional practices may start once per week, starting the week after your child resumes school in January. It will be stressed to the coaches that these are truly optional and will not impact playing time, positions, etc. Once winter sports wrap up by the middle of March, then regular practices will start at 3 days per week. Once games start, this will be reduced to 2 per week.
Games schedules are already being constructed by the coaches and will be finalized by May 1st to make the team aware of when their season ending tournament will be. That may or may not be the Nebraska state tournament, that decision will be up to each team. There will be about 25-30 games plus 3-4 tournaments.
There are no more team parents and volunteer hours will be managed by each family and submitted to FCYSO according to instructions they will be sending out. There are numerous ways to get your volunteer hours in baseball and field prep and cleanup is a big portion of that. The goal would be to allow the coaches to coach instead of having to prep the field before every game and stick around and clean up afterwards.
